The Florin Hill project consisted of the complete site preparation for a unique residential development located in Mount Joy, Pennsylvania. The development consists of a mix of town homes, garden homes and single-family homes. The project’s 30-acre site is located on the side of a large hill, which offers sweeping views of Lancaster County farmland. The elevation changes required extensive grading and the construction of over 17,000 square feet of boulder retaining walls. These beautiful rock walls add to the charm and distinctiveness of this community. Our earth moving crew showed their expertise as they executed this substantial project. The site work portion of this project included stripping 25,000 cubic yards of topsoil, 100,000 cubic yards of bulk cut to fill and extensive finish grading. The utility work on this project was also significant. The sanitary sewer system included 10,000 linear feet of pipe and 48 manholes. The storm water management plan involved 7,500 linear feet of pipe, 95 structures, 3 manholes and the construction of two retention basins. The water system utilized 8,500 feet of pipe, 64 gate valves and 14 fire hydrants. Other utility work included 3,000 linear feet of copper piping for individual lot water services. Finish work included 13,500 linear feet of Belgian Block curbing, 27,000 square feet of sidewalks and 26,000 square yards of paving. Based in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, H.L.
